Run Down

Had a good trip to Phoenix a few weeks ago. Of course, we visited a few breweries:

Sonora *** Good german beer styles, nothing over the top or incredibly memorable, but good!

Four Peaks **** Some nice tasty brews, such as their Kiltlifter, Hop Knot IPA and Kölsh. Food was good, but the brewery location is the place with the atmosphere. Gotta try the Edamame appetizer!

Oak Creek Brewing *** Excellent Pale ale! Their strong seasonal ales were pretty good too... worth a visit!

Papago Brewing ** Had an Orange Blossom Wheat beer that tasted like fruit loops. Their seasonal Abbey beer was good tho. But you definitely can't beat the bottled beer selection... one of the best!

BJ's Restaurant & Brewery ** Good place for a chain! Had the sampler and most of the beers were easy drinking, no standouts tho.

Other excellent places of note: The Rooselvelt, and the The Lost Leaf are great homey taverns to visit. Matt's Big Breakfast is great diner breakfast food if you can stand the wait (was worth it!).

Of course the was the baseball! Brewer's beat the Cubs, which is always nice... they looked good and hopefully they'll carry that into the season. Maryvale Park was a great time... all the fun from Miller Park but in a much smaller and more intimate, relaxed setting. Everything was there... the Klement's, the tailgating, the Miller, and of course.... the Sausages:

Thanks to Rick and Jeanie for being tour guides!
