The New Milwaukee

So a group is trying to push a new logo to promote Milwaukee.

I say, "eh."

The Milwaukee Visitors Bureau has jumped on the bandwagon also, incorporating the design into their logo also (dropping "Genuine American").

I'm not sure how I feel about the city putting all it eggs into the same Calatrava basket. While I recognize the architectural significance of the art museum, I don't feel it symbolizes the city. At least, not yet. Only time will tell if the art museum becomes an iconic landmark of the city or a symbol forced on a city that's still beer and brats at it's roots, whether people like it or not.
